Isa’s House base camp, Calbiga, lunedì 11 Aprile ore 10:50 (ore 4:50 in Italia)
Ieri giornata campale per due squadre che hanno dovuto arrendersi allo stesso problema: sifoni a valle con corrente troppo forte.
Marc ha effettuato un tentativo a Palaspas ma entrato nel sifone alimentato da circa 3 metri cubi al secondo ha scoperto che un restringimento di sezione causava un risucchio impossibile da gestire. Ne usciva impiegando 3 minuti per fare 3 metri!
Noi con Gigi e Jean Paul attraverso Gobingob siamo arrivati a Langun trovandolo ancora parzialmente allagato. La portata di circa 300 l/sec, non colando nello stretto pozzetto d’accesso, lasciava ben sperare ma una volta sul fiume principale, gli stessi 3 metri cubi più affluenti vari che l’altra squadra stava affrontando 3 km più a monte, ci si è resi conto che la massa d’acqua era preoccupante.
In prossimità del sifone a valle i due sub faticano ad arrivare oltre il gorgo dell’ultima cascata ma poi comune accordo decidono che non vi sono condizioni. Torniamo scornati alla prima comoda terrazza decidendo di lasciarvi il materiale per ritornarvi non prima di 3 giorni.
Vano anche il raggiungimento in arrampicata di un by-pass che ricade purtroppo prima del sifone. Nel mentre arrivano anche Tristan e Lillo che si erano fermati nella dolina di Gobingob per scendere e rilevare un P.60 che chiude 10 metri più sotto in frana.
Un ramo magnifico comunque quello di Langun a valle, percorso in splendida compagnia anche dei locali tra cui il giovanissimo Albin (battezzato a Camparina Cave nel 2009 con 20 ore di punta) e un amico porter rigorosamente scalzo. Rientro verso le 20 a Panayoran ovviamente sotto una fastidiosa pioggerellina e solo dopo aver incontrato il secondo cobra della giornata…
Oggi giornata di preparativi, cambio dollari e contatti vari per partire domani con un piano alternativo in attesa di condizioni migliori: Guido ritornerà con un Joni e un bel gruppo alla volta di Canlobo per ritrovare la mitica Mama Cave con un campo in foresta di 4-5 giorni. Io, Gigi, Marc ed il Gatto punteremo invece su obiettivi acquatici che rinfranchino lo spirito anfibio dei nostri sub troppo all’asciutto per i loro gusti… Ben 6 le grosse sorgenti da vedere con la fortuna di muoversi sulle tracce di un paio di sub, uno statunitense e l’altro tedesco che hanno fatto varie interessanti prospezioni in zona.
Vedremo cosa succederà. Tanto per cambiare qui ha ricominciato a piovere fortissimo…

Hello I`m Maria Tikka from Russia! This is my first time in Philippines and I`m impressed so much! The caves are so big and absolutely different then I usually saw. I was surprised so many insets, bats and spiders inside the caves but the halls and galleries huge and beautiful that doesn`t matter what are under your footJ! Ones more unexpected were the temperature in the cave! It is 25°C!!! So warm!!! And you don`t need to wear so much clothes as in usual caves in Europe! Just T-short and trousers!
The new experience for me was the trip to the jungle! Several hours walking in the forest, crossing the rivers and sometimes climbing to the wall! It was very interesting!! Our goal was to find big cave- Mama Cave! But after 3 days searches we found only baby-cave, grandmother-cave and some strange caves but no any Mama caveJ! But anyway it was very exciting and funny trip!
I hope all plans of this expedition will be successful and we find and explore new cave or caves! Will see!

Yesterday 2 teams had to surrender for the same problem: too strong stream sinks .
Marc made and attempt in Palaspas but once in the sink found an impossibile sucking. He got out in 3 minutes for 3 meters !
We with Gigi and Jean Paul through Gobingob arrived to Langun finding it still partially flooded; close to the downstream sink the 2 divers decide that cannot go ahead .
Tristan and Lillo (who stopped in the Gobingob doline for descending and mapping a 60 m deep well closing in collapses) arrive.
Tomorrow alternative plan: Guido will be back with Joni for finding the mythical Mamaa Cave camping in the forest 4-5 days. I, Gigi, Marc and the Ca twill look for 6 big springs already seen by 2 divers in the last years.
